Book Review 2

Recently the library has become my friend. Did you know you can check out books for free? I don’t know why I didn’t think of it before but it’s perfect for someone with craft ADD like me- check out some books, test ‘em out and then purchase them if I can’t live without. With our library, I can check everything out at home, online and then just go pick it up. Dreamy.
So I found Sew What Bags by Lexie Barnes and I put it on hold. It took a few weeks to get to our library. But it was so worth the wait. Really. One of my favorite sewing books to date.
I love Lexie’s kick back style. There are no templates, no patterns. It’s ideal for a girl (moi) who doesn’t like patterns. It’s so easy to follow. Very clear. She has tips throughout. I would say that it’s more for a beginner than a master seamstress. There are 18 projects- everything from totes to messanger bags and drawstring bags.
You can check out more about the book here and there’s even a sample project too:
Tiny Tote

I would give this book a 5 out of 5 stars.
I can’t wait to get my hands busy behind my sewing machine.
I will share when I complete a Sew What Bags project.

Hi- I'm Mique (as in Mickey). I started 30days as an idea file a few years ago. After three years and hundreds of ideas, I now realize that I'll never check them all off my list. When I'm not creating, I love spending time with family and friends and long drives, especially if they end at the beach.

I’m all for the beginner projects. Thanks for sharing!

Also, THANK YOU for supporting your local library. Why don’t more people know how amazing of a resource libraries are?

Yay! Thanks for the idea. I've been making sweet use of our library lately for felt & softie books. Great way to try out books you weren't sure you wanted to pay for. I'm surprised at how quickly the "on hold" books arrive, too!
I'm "sew" all over that Sew What Bags book, thanks!

My mom and I bought this book too. It’s got a whole bunch of projects in there that are for different levels of ability. LOVE IT!

What’s even better than being a member of the library is working there. Most staff suggestions are purchased, so I get the books I want and then can decide if I want to buy it, oh and I also get the book first!
