Craft Book Review: Sewing School

It’s been a long time since my last craft book review.  But I recently received Sewing School to review and happily passed it to my nine year old daughter.  She loooooved it and can’t wait to get busy making every.single.project.
The great things about this book:

  • Bright and colorful- love the overall layout of this book and that it’s spiral bound.
  • A lot of hand stitching, so those without a sewing machine aren’t left out.  It’s noted when a sewing machine is required.
  • Each project has a note from a child that actually did the project- this was one of my daughter’s favorite things, reading what everyone else thought.
  • A range of projects.
  • There’s a pocket full of patterns in the back.

Overall- definitely recommend this book
Would make a great gift for a girl, specifically ages 8-13.

In addition to reviewing Sewing School, I get to give one away!!  Yay!
Open to U.S. residents only.

Mique
Hi- I'm Mique (as in Mickey). I started 30days as an idea file a few years ago. After three years and hundreds of ideas, I now realize that I'll never check them all off my list. When I'm not creating, I love spending time with family and friends and long drives, especially if they end at the beach.

I have an 8 year old daughter who would LOVE this book! Actually, I don’t think love is a strong enough word for how excited she’d be to own it.

I have no clue how to sew. I’ve had a machine since my DD was 2-she is now 9.5. I attempted to make pillows. They came out with something I can’t quite call corners. If I won this, I promise to share with my DD. But I get first dibs:)

I would love to share this book with my granddaughter Ava. She just turned 11 and I think it would be a great wat to pass my love of sewing on to her. I always say that there is usually at least one sewer in each generation of a family. She is very artistic and likes colorful things. I think she would be a great sewer.

That’s so cool! I work with tween girls at church and I think that this would definitely be something to help in our quest to learn homemaking skills!

This book would be perfect for both me and my daughter. I’ve been wanting to learn how to sew and I’m completely intimidated taking a class. I need very basic lessons that even my 11 year old daughter can do. This would be so fun to learn together.

I love to sew and I can’t wait for my daughter to get her first sewing machine. I have taught her to hand embroider some so I know the passion is in her to sew! I would love to start with this book!
