What do you do if you aren’t a bit Irish but don’t want to get pinched on St. Patrick’s Day? You make a t-shirt like this:
If you were born after 1990, this shirt might have no meaning to you.
I know this type of shirt has been done thousands of times, but just in case you want a play by play, here is what I did:
What you need:
1 t-shirt
Tulip fabric paint- I used Marine Blue Matte and Holiday Green Matte
paint brushes, I prefer foam brushes
U can’t touch this pattern
If using a Silhouette (LOVE mine!)- vinyl and masking
If making your own stencil- paper, scissors, exacto knife and tape
First cut the pattern out with your Silhouette or by hand.
Use the negative space and apply to your tshirt.
I used Marine Blue Matte Tulip paint for the main writing
and painted the dot on the i Holiday Green Matte Tulip paint.
I applied a few coats to ensure even application.

I let the paint dry for a few hours.
And carefully peeled away the vinyl.

End result
Even my husband thought it was cute. (Bonus!)
The one downside?
Trying to get my four year old to take it off so he doesn’t ruin it before the 17th.
Make sure to get your own U can’t touch this pattern. Enjoy!

Love it! It took me a few minutes to get it… coffee hadn’t kicked in yet. Great idea:-)
I’m making this…for myself. Kidding! I think…
I can totally picture it Char- I double dog dare you. You will be the envy of all your friends. Just make sure to make gold Hammer pants to complete the outfit. ;)
LOVE IT! Traditional I make a shirt or something for my kids to wear on special days at school-this will be great for my son! Maybe he could take a break from the UnderArmour! Thanks for the idea! My Silhouette arrives today. I can’t wait to get started!!!
Yay Chessa- congrats on getting a Silhouette- it will change your life. Ok maybe not change your life. But it’s REALLY cool.
Happy to help your son get away from the UnderArmour. Glad you like it!
I think this shirt is so funny. The little bit of green makes it. I wish my son didn’t wear a uniform to school! Oh, maybe he could wear it under his collard shirt???
This is adorable! I love that there is just a small bit of green…but it still counts:)
This is so cute Mique! It’s hilarious that my kids are now running around the house singing “Can’t touch this!” I’ve infected them with 80′s madness. LOL!
Hello, Genius!! I didn’t realize you could use vinyl for stenciling! Good bye freezer paper!

Thanks Amy! I loved making it. ;) My son thought it was cool but parents thought it was hilarious. Thanks for the comment!
Love it!! Have the Cameo, but don’t know how to download a PDF file to use. What font did you use and I can just re-create it in the freeware design studio. Thanks!!
T-shirt stenciling has become an obsession for me lately! :) I made family t-shirts to cheer on my hubby when he ran his first marathon a couple of weeks ago, and then made the boys somewhat matching t-shirts with a dinosaur on it… hee hee… love playing with the Cameo!!
