My kids are officially out of school and I’m excited about the ideas that are pouring in for Funner in the Summer. Like this fun DIY felt board from Kelli and Kristi- enjoy!!

Before we get started, we wanted to say HI! to Mique and all her cute readers! So glad we can “meet” ya’ll today! We’re twin sisters, Kelli and Kristi from Lolly Jane, a blog full of DIY/Home Improvement projects and a recipe or two along the way. We have 6 kids between the two of us so we are all about keeping our little ones busy this summer!
We’re loving the long, lazy days of summertime but can only swim so much! This easy recycled frame felt board kept the kids busy for hours. Making their people out of felt took up time and let them get creative. Here’s how we made ours, our only cost was felt!
We scored this giant 3 foot frame free from a friend who was moving. I removed the back, spray adhesive’d it and covered it with gray felt for a neutral background, then stapled gun’d it to the frame for security.
This process took only a few minutes. The kids were working on their felt people using cheap pieces of felt and scissors. I love that my sons created “army guys” complete with swords. The youngest attempted a potato head girl, too cute. The birds and trees were easy, I just free handed everything on paper before hand and cut it out from that template.
Do you have a LaLaLoopsy fan in the house? You can use any of your kids’ favorite characters, Batman, Spongebob, Phineas+Ferb, etc.
I printed some Loopsy characters on regular paper from my printer, cut them out, laminated them then cut around them again. To get them to stick to the felt, I cut up velcro and stuck it to the back of the newly laminated dolls cutouts. Really easy, cutting is your only time expense involved.
I hope this turns out to be a good summer boredom buster for you!
We’d love to have you join us on FB, Twitter and/or Pinterest anytime! Thanks so much, Mique, for letting us play on your cute blog for a day! XOXO, Kelli and Kristi
Another awesome idea to keep the kids entertained this summer! Thanks to Kelli and Kristi from Lolly Jane for sharing this awesome project. I got the chance to hang out with Kelli a couple of months ago and had a blast. Hoping to meet you some day Kristi!
