Summer Watermelon Play Date

Hi there! It’s Michelle from I DO invitations by michelle with my first contributor post! Woohoo! SO excited to share with you the recent play date party I threw for my daughter and 15 other kiddos. This year I decided on a pink + green watermelon theme since that is Cami’s (my daughter) favorite.

Almost everything you see I already had laying around from past parties. Cami and I made the watermelon cupcakes the night before. We simply baked regular white cupcakes in lime green liners from Shop Sweet Lulu, tinted the frosting pink and added a few mini chocolate chips on top to fit the theme! My mama friend {who also attended the party} made the adorable watermelon cookies and I ordered matching watermelon cake pops from Lillycakes. One of the mama’s is also a professional photographer so all the amazing photos were taken by Photos by Vitella.

At the end, we let the kiddos all throw one last balloon at their mom’s – they thought it was pretty cool! :)

Thanks to Target, I filled the tin buckets with all dollar aisle items for a cheap but fun favor for the kids to take home. Scented watermelon stickers, watermelon magnets and of course, bubbles.

I hope I’ve inspired you to throw a play date for your kiddos this Summer – I’d love to know, what is your favorite part? Pretty sure mine is the picture of all the kids lined up and some of them even holding hands. So darn sweet.
