After a busy fall, I’m finally feeling back to (sorta) normal and that translates to more cooking and baking. Just in time for the holidays! My mom makes divine caramel apple dip (I’ll have to share that recipe sometime- ok Mom?) but I made a different version.
This version is fluffy and creamy. I used an ingredient I don’t normally use- International Delight creamer. Silly me- it never occurred to me that I could substitute milk in a lot of recipes for creamer. Hello! The possibilities are endless. Especially since International Delight has so many flavors. Pumpkin Pie Spice? Hazelnut? A bunch of chocolate ones if chocolate is your thing. They have a coupon right now to tempt you a little more. You’re welcome. OH and I was stumped at the grocery store— creamer is in the refrigerator section. I don’t drink coffee so I’m not used to looking for it. BUT now that I know it can be used in baking….I’ll be like a mad scientist with all of my recipes.
- 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup packed brown sugar
- ¼ cup coffee creamer (I used International Delights, sweet cream)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 c. marshmallow creme
- 3-5 sliced apples
- In a bow, beat the cream cheese, brown sugar, coffee creamer and vanilla until smooth. Fold in marshmallow creme.
- Serve with cut apple slices.
For an even more caramel taste, you can add ⅛ c. caramel topping and ⅛ c. coffee creamer. Or just ¼ c. caramel topping in place of the creamer.
Recipe adapted from Taste of Home
I used Fuji apples because that’s what I love. I’m not really a tart apple kinda girl. But they are admittedly sweet- so feel free to use whatever you like. And this dip could really be used with any kind of fruit- not just apples.
