Reader’s Choice Link Up

Happy Friday! I hope your Valentine’s day was fabulous.  I had a fun time spreading some love and RAOK.  This week for the link up, it’s Reader’s Choice.  You can link up whatever you want.  Since I switched the format, here are the themes I’ve hosted:

Reader's Choice Link Up

Link up your choice.  Whatever you want.
And then leave a comment for why you linked it up.  Please also leave in the comments what type of link ups you like being a part of or what theme you hope to see in the future.

I have two friends with new(ish) link ups that are fun. Stop by Leigh Anne from Your Homebased Mom’s Finding the Pretty & Delicious Link Up and Mariel from Or So She Says’ Your Great Idea Link Up- both tomorrow!

—–> Up next week: I will be taking ideas from the comments- so make sure to leave what you’d like to see in a comment below.

Mique
Hi- I'm Mique (as in Mickey). I started 30days as an idea file a few years ago. After three years and hundreds of ideas, I now realize that I'll never check them all off my list. When I'm not creating, I love spending time with family and friends and long drives, especially if they end at the beach.

I linked up my most recent project, my burlap love banner, which has the word love in 10 different languages. I chose languages that were special to me and my family. If anyone has a Silhouette, they can download my cut file fo’ free.

And as for future link up themes…here are a few ideas:

    -Party-Related
    -Kid-Friendly Projects
    -10 Minutes or Less Projects
    -Home Decor Projects
    -Textiles / Fabric-Related
    -Craft Fails
    -Craftgawker Rejects
    -Pinterest Inspired
    -Dollar Store Crafts
    -Furniture Makeovers
    -Why I Blog
    -What Inspires Me

Thanks for hosting such a great party, Mique. Looking forward to more creative link-ups to come!

    Warmly,
    Lauren

I linked up my resent post. I like redesign, diy and craft project and good interior ideas. Thanks for hosting! Greetings from the land of the north: Norway

Honestly, I don’t prefer any type of blog linkup over another. I just like the chance to be able to share, and to find inspiration for new recipes and home ideas outside of Pinterest. ;)

Thank you for giving us the chance to share here!

I linked my baby shower, since it’s one of my favorite (and most popular) parties. Plus I have a teeny tiny case of baby fever right now! I loved when you linked “about” pages, it was so interesting to find new bloggers. I would love to see a really specific theme, like “chocolate” or “green” themes – would be great for holidays!

Thanks Suzanne! Baby fever? You make such cute babies- I don’t blame you. ;) I loved the “About Me” link up too because I felt really connected to everyone. Have a great week!

I linked up my girls room…because after all this time…we still love it ;) Fun linky ideas…: diy wedding ideas, healthy snacks, maybe colors (like a pink linky etc…)
    Love stopping here ;)

Thanks Tracie! That’s the best- working on something and still loving it after time has passed. I like your fun ideas. Thanks for sharing! Have an awesome week.

Thanks so much for hosting! I linked up 2 projects:
    1) Make your own silhouette art – this one is special to me because my parents just lost their dog and I wanted them to have a sweet memento of her.
    2) Pipe shelf entertainment center – I linked this one because my husband built it AND “guest posted” about it. It’s the first time he’s ever blogged :)

Here are some ideas for other parties:
-“to-do” list projects – posts about what we plan on making in the near future
-“no purchase necessary” – posts about recipes or projects that you should be able to complete with things you already have around the house
    -$5 and under
-kid’s craft (or kid related projects) – this might be too specialize though, I’m not sure…
-project that starts with your initial (too random?) – for example I could link up “Silhouette Art” because my name starts with an “S”

I’ll try to think of more :) I love the idea behind your link party! It makes each week so much fun. Have a great weekend!

Shannon – You, my dear, are a brave one for sure. If my hubs got ahold of my blog he’d break it for sure. Kudos for having the hubs pitch in! ~ Dee

Shannon- these are fantastic ideas. Thanks so much for sharing! And for linking up your posts. I love that one is your husband’s “guest post.” Don’t think Josh would ever go for that. So good job!!

I linked up my Valentine’s creations! I was so happy with how they turned out. Honestly though, I like the original link up party. For me, I think that it may be too limiting to only link up certain themes and a lot of great projects could go un-linked because you would have to wait for the right time to link up and then those might be forgotten. That is just my thought on it since I don’t get a lot of chances to link up to blogs. Thanks for hosting!

Hi Amy- thanks for linking up your Valentine’s creations. I loooove V-day! I actually started doing themes just recently so that people would hang around and connect more. With more general linkies, I felt like people were just coming, linking, and then leaving quickly. My thoughts on changing it up was that people would actually visit each other and make real connections. I feel like that’s been the case since I switched things up. Each week I don’t have nearly as many link ups as I used to, but I love that people are learning more about each other. And instead of saying “thanks for the linky party” each week, I get to really know WHY people are linking things up or what makes them tick. I love it. Thanks for the comment!

      • says

Seriously, this is my FAVORITE linky party in blogland now ever since you changed it up. One criticism of link parties that I’ve heard is they they don’t allow for an organic connection between bloggers…it’s forced or “required,” and as you mentioned, most folk link and run (I admit, I’ve been guilty of that). However, I think your linky party DOES allow for organic connection in the new format. We have to put thought into WHAT we link up and we can engage with you and others in the comments section. Some weeks, I don’t have a relevant project or I have to really get creative to fit the category, but I’m engaging with your party and with your readers in a new way…and I so appreciate that. Thanks for asking for our input this week!

        • says

Lauren- thank you!! What an awesome comment. I so appreciate it. I know how it is and I can be the same way for sure- linking up and leaving because I’m in a hurry. But I honestly LOVE that people are connecting more here. It feels good that people are meeting and getting to know each other instead of linking and ditching. People host and do linky parties for different reasons. Some like the links back. Some like the traffic. Some like them for a combination of reasons. But it just got to the point where I was ready to stop doing it. I thought it was worth trying to change it up and seeing if there was more interaction. I’m so happy with how things have changed and I hope it keeps going the way it is. If not, I guess I’ll mix it up again. ;) Hope you have a wonderful week! Thanks again for the comment.

          • says

You’re welcome, Mique. And I’m so glad you didn’t ditch it, but reimagined it in this wonderful way! And while you may not get as much traffic, you’re definitely building up more loyalty among your readers, which to me, is WAY more valuable. Have a great week, too! And I’ll look forward to Friday’s link-up…and whatever category it will be. :-)

Hi! Thanks for hosting, I found you off Lil Luna’s link party page, so glad I did. I love this and I love that you have themes that switch up. I linked up my printable meal planner, how to magically get a couple cleaning fairies in your house (kids will love it) and how you can start organizing the chaos in your life-one stop shop of ideas to get started! I love any themes, just love that you switch it up!

Hi Mique! I love all your link up ideas. Even though I may not always have something to share, I do enjoy seeing what others share. :)

I link up the Boy Bathroom (before & after) because I has so much fun creating this bathroom for my son. It is a happy and fun room for bath time and brushing teeth. The sun and trees make me (us) smile. :D

    Have a beautiful weekend!

I finally have the confidence to share outfit posts on my blog. I’m doing the Take One Pass It On Closet Remix challenge. It’s so much fun and it pushes me to be more creative with my outfits. I really like being part of “Life Lately” posts where everyone gets to share what’s keeping you busy these days. It’s so interesting to see what people are up to.

    Thank you for hosting!

Another great idea to add to the list- thank you Mary! I love the “life lately” idea….I’m always curious what people are up to. And congrats on sharing your outfits. Way to go!! Have a fabulous week.

This is my first link up to your party and I linked up because I heard about you from DaisyMaeBelle’s blog. I linked an infinity scarf tutorial but most of the parties I join lean more toward home decor, DIY, and painted furniture. I am open to any type of link up party but really like to see a wide assortment of ideas! Thanks for hosting and I’m so glad I found you! Hugs, Patti@OldThingsNew

I’m sharing my latest DIY Fail! to show that even as a professional designer I can fall prey to decorating blunders. We’re all human afterall! I want my readers to know that my house is rarely perfect and that most of my awesomeness stems from trial and error. Love your themed link-ups btw. I would love to expand my blog-tribe and your more personalized parties seem to enable that more than the traditional “Look at me!” parties do. So – thank you Mique! :) ~ Dee

Dee- I love this. So refreshing to know that we all have blunders and fails! I think it’s easy to get caught up in all the pretty and sometimes I forget to share the “trial and error” portion of things. I need to do that more. Thanks for linking up and for the comments!

Mustache parties are so much fun. I created these embossed novelty mustache note cards that can be handstampe on the inside for invitations, or left blank on the inside for thank you messages.

Not sure what I love the most: the cards or the mustache comb embossed on the envelop. I wanted to share something fun and whimsical.
