Hi everyone! Jen here from Elevate-Everyday.com. My partner in crime is Summer and we are the founders of the Elevate Blog Conference.
Here are 5 quick things you might want to know about us:
1. We are real life BFFs who first connected over an email about HTML coding (so cliché we know lol)
2. We only get to see each other about 4 times a year, but we talk on the phone probably 500 times a year
3. We love dessert almost as much as we love our kids…all six of them between the 2 of us
4. We are happiest when we have so many things on our todo list that it makes our heads spin
5. We would LOVE to meet you all in person at the Elevate Blog Conference next year! Keep an eye on our social media for more details to come.
Now that you’ve got the skinny on us, let’s get to crafting!
Did anyone go shopping during the weekend after Thanksgiving? We had family in town so my sister in law and I had lots of time to sneak away and we went to Anthropologie to see what the sale was like.
I kept noticing how whimsical and beautiful the decor was (isn’t it always?!) and a lot of the pieces for sale were made with feathers.
When I got home I browsed around their site for a wreath I saw and here it was, the Fallen Feathers Wreath.
And it is $138!
Even if I could afford it, I could never justify it.
So I got to work. I don’t craft often, but when I do I overcompensate, over buy, and it’s messy.
I spent $61 at Michael’s and took $31 back already, making this knock off a total of $30!
That’s a number I can do!
I spray painted the white poinsettia leaves and the green leaves gold and copper. I also spray painted pine cones that I found in my backyard gold and copper. My husband was grateful that I didn’t buy the pine cones this time.
{For the back story on that, check out my Instagram}
Once all the leaves were painted and dried, I hot glued them all around the wreath.
After your wreath is covered in gold leaves, glue the feathers on. Layer them on top of each other, underneath each other, and on top of the gold leaves.
And you’re done.
Once the paint is dried it’s a
30 minute project…tops!
My Salty Bison feather sign goes perfectly with this project!
I grabbed stumps from a neighbor, a vintage phone from etsy, and the glass jars are another project that I will be posting soon!
We’d love it if you’d come visit us!

Thanks for letting me stop by Mique, you’re the best!
