Hello. My name is Jes from My DIY Envy where I share furniture makeovers and DIY projects. Even though painting furniture is my first love, dessert comes in a close second. The problem for me is I’m no good at baking. Last summer I discovered a love for making homemade ice cream flavors and today I’m sharing a new one, at least for me. I know Tutti Frutti is a classic flavor but I typically lean towards chocolates and caramels.
No churn ice cream is the way to go when it comes to making homemade ice cream. Especially if you love to use add in ingredients like me. Adding ingredients to an ice cream maker make it harder for the ice cream to freeze, making it more like a milkshake instead of ice cream.
Check out that scoop of ice cream! I’ve never been able to make ice cream like this with a machine. I might be able to if I spent more money on an ice cream maker but this no churn recipe is seriously so easy to make and is so creamy!
- 1 pint heavy whipping cream
- 2 tsp almond extract (or more if you like)
- 2 Tbsp sugar
- 1 Tbsp banana extract
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 cup pureed pineapple
- 1 cup pureed strawberries
- chocolate sauce and slivered almonds (optional)
First you will make a homemade whipped cream with the pint of heavy whipping cream, almond extract, banana extract and sugar. This only takes a couple of minutes with a kitchen aid or electric mixer.
Then fold in the sweetened condensed milk with a spatula. This is your base for any ice cream flavor you want to make.
I then used an immersion blender to blend strawberries and pineapple dices (canned or fresh) separately.
I use a metal bread pan for freezing homemade ice cream. I picked mine up at IKEA and it’s long and skinny which I think helps it freeze quicker. I like to add the extra ingredients in layers so I pour some of the ice cream mixture into the bottom of the pan. Then I spooned in strawberries and pineapple, using the spoon to swirl the fruit into the cream mixture. I keep doing this until I run out of ingredients. I prefer to do it this way so it has swirls of ingredients rather than blending it together and making a pink ice cream. Just makes me feel fancy.
Cover with tin foil or plastic wrap and freeze for 6 hours.
I love making no churn homemade ice cream. So far I’ve made HERSHEY’S Caramel Kisses ice cream and Banana Split Brownie ice cream. What flavor would you make? Today I am sharing my favorite no churn ice cream flavors.
