  • ½ c milk
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 6 slices thick French bread

Strawberry Syrup:

  • 1 lb fresh strawberries chopped; reserve a few for garnish on top
  • 1 c sugar
  • 2 tbsp fresh orange juice
  • 1 tsp grated orange rind

Instructions

  • Cut bread into heart shape using a cookie cutter.
  • Mix together the first seven ingredients until well blended.
  • Place bread on a large baking sheet (with sides).
  • Pour batter over the bread. Turn the bread and make sure back side is coated as well.

  • Remove from heat and allow to cool. Place in blender and blend.
  • Return mixture to pan and cook until mixture thickens.
