- 1 c sugar
- 1 c oil
- 1½ tsp vanilla
- 1 tsp cream of tartar
- 1 c butter
- 2 eggs
- 4 c flour
- Optional - colored sanding sugar
Cream butter, oil (I used canola but vegetable oil could be used as well), and sugar for approximately 2 minutes.
Beat in the eggs and vanilla.
Sift the dry ingredients and gradually add to wet mix.
Roll dough into balls and dip in powdered, granulated or sanding sugar.
Press down with a glass to flatten slightly.
Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes (depending on your oven) until edges are just slightly brown. Don't overbake!
