Slow Cooker French Onion Soup

- 8-10 onions sliced
- ½ c butter
- 60 oz beef broth
- 1 ½ tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 3 bay leaves
- 10 slices French bread toasted
- grated parmesan and/or shredded Mozzarella cheese
Sauté onions in butter until crisp and tender.
Transfer to slow cooker.
Add broth, Worcestershire sauce and bay leaves. Cover.
Cook on low for 5-7 hours or until onions are tender.
Discard bay leaves.
Ladle into bowls.
Top each with a slice of bread and cheese.
For a more intense beef flavor, add one beef bouillon cube.
