  • 3 lbs boneless pork shoulder roast fat trimmed
  • 1 yellow onion peeled and cut in half
  • ¼ c apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp pepper


  • Combine all ingredients in a bag and freeze.
  • Cook on low for 8 hours in a 4-quart crockpot or 4 hours in a 6-quart crockpot.
  • Shred meat and serve on hamburger buns with a side of coleslaw or salad (we like to top our sandwiches with extra BBQ sauce too).
