Over the years I’ve posted about doing good:
Crafting for Good
Worthwhile Crafting
While there are SO many charities out there, in the creative niche, the possibilities to do good are endless. We have the opportunity to use our hands and talents to help others. I am humbled by friends that have used their blogs for good. Project 320. Life Rearranged and Cliff. Cora’s Playground. Seriously- in awe.
Soon, very soon, I will be sharing an event with you for a friend that is like a little sister to me. She is one of Jess’ best friends and has been in our lives for over twenty years. Jess and I have gathered the most kind, generous amazing people to help us raise funds for Sharlie. Shar is getting ready to undergo a double lung AND heart transplant. Yes. You read that right. I don’t want to sound cliche, but oh well- she is the most amazing person I’ve ever come in contact with. She has faced so much and yet has an incredible perspective. She is so strong. She is kind. You can’t help but feel good when you are around her. And yet- she’s very funny and down to Earth too.
I will share more of what we are up to in the near future. But I’d love for you to take a second to get to know her.
More than anything I hope today you’ll make it a goal to do something good. Send some good mail. Bake some cookies. Smile at a stranger. I have never ever felt better than when I am doing for others.
