I’m happy to have Kim here for Bake Craft Sew with fun Ho Ho Ho Playdough!
Hi! I’m Kimbo and I blog over at a girl and a glue gun. We had so much fun playing with our Halloween playdoh recently–that I thought we should reinvent it for Christmas! It’s so perfect for classroom parties or just to keep the little ones busy -(I say little but my 13 year old played with it for 2 hours this afternoon!)
And this recipe is is just the most soft doh ever!
The Best Playdoh recipe:
- 1 cup water
- 1 TBS salad oil
- Food coloring
- 1 cup flour
- 2 tbs salt
- 1 tsp Alum
I ran out of Alum and made a last batch without it….the next day it was so sticky and we couldn’t even get it out of the package–so don’t skip out on it! (For the white I didn’t add any food coloring!)
I like to gather up some fun arts and crafts supplies to inspire the creativity (and most can be found at the dollar store!) Pipe cleaners, googly eyes, buttons, stars, bells, snowflakes, beads, candy canes.
My 8 year old came up with this cute creation! Isn’t is so fun! The Christmas tree is acutally from a cookie cutter!
I even whipped up some Play doh Prompts–Cut them out to help the kids get creative juices flowing! OR you can turn it into a game and have them draw a card and sculpt the prompt while others guess what it is!
You can print this out HERE!
