Every year for the last 7, I have hosted a summer series called Funner in the Summer. Today is the kick off for that series. I cannot believe it’s already time for summer!! You can expect to see some amazing recipes, kid ideas, printables and more all throughout the summer from my talented blogging friends. First up is my friend Kristen from Capturing Joy and her Pin the Cherry on the Ice Cream Cone is adorable!!
I’m always looking to find something funner in the summer, so I was delighted when Mique asked me to share an activity that would bring out the FUN! My name is Kristen Duke, and I share my family fun tips and teach photography lessons over at Capturing Joy. I’ve had a recent desire to share real life parenting discussions, so that’s something new on my site, too, so come on over and join us!
Today, I’m sharing this Pin the Cherry on the Ice Cream Cone activity, it’s a great summer boredom buster to entertain a handful of kids, or just your own children playing with each other.
This game debuted at my daughters ice cream birthday party, and was a big hit! The kids were 6 and 7, so we didn’t have too strong of stipulations for them, but we might have more strict rules for older kids. As you can tell, they could feel fairly well where the others places their cherries!
They all had a lot of fun, and that’s what is important, right?
The ice cream cone image is a 16×20 in size, and I printed at Sams Club for about $7 (turn off the auto color correct), and then I printed the cherries as an 8×10, but you can also do that at home. I put my girls to work cutting them out (much too tedious for me!) and they loved being involved, too!
You’ll find a coordinating Banner and water bottle labels (shown above) over on the ice cream party post on my site, if you want more.
