It has been 100+ degrees where we live this week.  Whoa nelly! It’s been hot.  I’m looking forward to the fall and sweater weather but obviously we are still a ways out from that.  In the mean time we’re using all of our strawberries and watermelon to finish off the summer.  Drew wanted to make something together so we made this easy Strawberry Watermelon Fruit Slush.

The great thing about it is that it can be made a few different ways.  You can blend up the ingredients quickly and drink it right away.  Or you can stick it in the freezer and make it into a true fruit slush.  Either way it tastes great and is so refreshing.  Drew couldn’t help but take a straw and drink it straight from the blender.  Ha!

This is one of the recipes that would be very easy to have your kids join in and help make.  Depending on their age, they can cut the fruit up, pour the ingredients in and blend it up.   Remember kids can cook!

My kids favorite thing is being the taste testers.  They have no problem telling me if they like the recipe or not.  It cracks me up that they have opinions about what could be added or taken away to make something taste good.

If you can hold off on gulping down the drink, the fruit slush is totally worth the wait!
