Adorable Welcome Spring Canvas + Printable

The sun is out, the birds are chirping and I have spring on my mind.  I know, I know… we’ve still got a month until we officially welcome spring but I couldn’t help myself and made a fun little project to be 100% ready.   This one was inspired by my twelve year old daughter who LOVES bows.

Last month I had the opportunity to visit (freezing cold) Utah for the Cricut Explore Launch.  If you follow me on Instagram, you probably saw jaw dropping pictures of the event.  It was a grand affair to say the least.  And while I loved loved loved all of the details that went into the launch (yay Cara, Mallie & Amorology- you guys were amazing!!), I must say that the new Explore exceeded my expectations.

I’m sure you’ve heard lots about the Explore by now.  There’s been a ton of buzz about it.  My friends Mandi and Amy did an awesome job breaking it down so I won’t go into too much here.  I will say that there has been a lot of leading up to this.  I started hearing whisperings about it last year and wasn’t sure it could live up to the hype after waiting so gosh. darn. long.  Luckily it has met every expectation and then some.   I will be honest in saying that while I love the Design Space software, they are still working out the kinks and updating.  To Cricut’s credit, they have fully listened to what we the consumers want and taken all information seriously.  So I think that as more testers use the software and give opinions, it will continue to improve.  I can’t tell you how nice it is be associated with a company that makes me feel like my opinion matters.  The CEO, Ashish, has made it clear that we, the creative people, are the experts and he is ready and willing to listen.  I don’t feel like it’s a gimmick and think it’s super refreshing.

My Cricut ExploreI love the design of this machine.  There’s a spot for everything.  I love the tool and blade spaces.

Here’s a little video to show you a tiny sliver of what it can do:

I won’t give you a step by step tutorial since the Explore hasn’t officially been released yet.  It’d be a big tease and that’s just not nice.  Instead just look at the picture and think of all the fun things you could create!  I mean- leather, metal, wood— the possibilities really are endless.   For now I’m having fun getting to know my machine.  I need to name her.   Any suggestions?

Mique
Hi- I'm Mique (as in Mickey). I started 30days as an idea file a few years ago. After three years and hundreds of ideas, I now realize that I'll never check them all off my list. When I'm not creating, I love spending time with family and friends and long drives, especially if they end at the beach.

I Am dying! Hat is the cutest thing ever! I so want one. I don’t have a circuit though. :). Are you selling these? I am just swooning over it!

Awww- you just made my day Emily. I’m not selling them but thank you so much for the sweet compliment. I was excited with how it turned out. ;)

This is really cute! I love it. Pinned. I can’t wait to get this Cricut. I have two others that I will have to sell. I hope the software is better than the craftroom. This might keep me from getting a Silhouette.

Thanks so much Kathleen. IMHO, they have stepped up the software big time. There are some things to work on still but I love the way they have redesigned. I think it’s a great marriage of easy for people who want to just click “go” and do the project like it’s shared and then for people like me who want to design our own stuff. There are so many cool features on this machine. I love that you don’t have to guess what blade and setting – there’s a dial to switch to for fabric, cardstock, vinyl, etc. You can also do custom though. Anyway- as you can see I’m a fan of it! ;)

Thanks Megan! We are like in opposite-ville. California is having the worst drought in something like 100 years! We need rain so badly but it’s been SO hot this year. (I know boo-hoo, right? But seriously it’s scary) Luckily rain is in the forecast for the rest of the week. But it’s been weird with everyone else having snow, snow, snow and here we are roasting! xo

this machine looks amazing. I dont have a budget for a machine like that though. i just wanted to say BIG THANKS for the Gorgeous Printable, soo colorful & inspiring! just wondering, i read the post but saw nothing about the actual Bows you have here on Your Canvas: Did you make these? tutorial? printable? is that a Circuit ‘thing’? i have once found a tutorial for the folds involved in making a paper bow but i am NO Genius in Origami (can only make origami hearts, only lol;) and was wondering if you have shared this before, and maybe i missed it somewhere in your blog here? THANK YOU again so much! this is just beautiful! ;D

This is really cute! I have no idea how to use a Cricut, but I’d almost be willing to cut these out with scissors just to make it.
