Hello Thirty Handmade Days readers, it’s Emma from Crafting{E}! I am SO excited to share this adorable project with you today! For most of us, it is time to get ready to go back to school. This year I’m going to be a junior in high school and we start the first week of August. For me, going back to school has never been something I look forward to. Besides getting cute new clothes and fresh new school supplies, I’d rather pass on going back to school, haha.
One of the things I do when I’m not looking forward to something is I make fun projects having to do with that thing to get me excited. For example, I love to craft and bake. I figured, what better to do than make back to school themed goodies and pass them out to friends in cute containers? Well, that’s exactly what I did with this apple gift basket.
Don’t you love how these apple gift baskets turned out? I love them! They are SO simple to make too. All you need are some red berry baskets, brown paper straws, something to put inside the basket, cellophane, and bakers twine. I also designed the tags to attach to the top.
The tags read “Have a great first week!”. They also have a spot to write who the gift is from and who it’s to. You can download the tags at the end of this post FOR FREE!!
These are seriously such a fun thing to make. Plus, who wouldn’t love to receive one of these baskets the night before school starts??
MATERIALS:
- Red berry baskets.
- Treat to put inside the baskets.
- Cellophane.
- Wax paper.
- Twine
- Tags (you can download the tags at the end of this post).
DIRECTIONS:
- First, wrap your treat in wax paper and place it inside the basket.
- Next, Wrap the basket in cellophane and tie it with a piece of twine.
- Then, push a paper straw into the middle of the cellophane. I cut mine in half so they wouldn’t be as long.
- Then, Tie on the tags using the piece of twine you used to tie the cellophane.

And that’s it! See I told you these are easy to make! Don’t forget to check out my blog for more ideas like this one!
