Vanessa from Blog 5 to 9 is back to share some football party ideas. She included some fabulous DIY templates and printables to use to host your own football party. Take it away Vanessa….
My husband and I went to rival universities and even though we’re not huge sports fans, we love showing our school spirit when our teams play each other! Last weekend we had some friends over to watch the big football game so I put together some fun and easy treats for everyone to enjoy!
The treats and decorations are surprisingly very easy to put together and required no baking. With high school football season coming to an end, these ideas would be great for an end of season party too!
Since we had fans from both teams, the table was split directly in half. I made dangling decorations by cutting out different size circles of the team colors. I taped the circles to some burlap twine along with some paper footballs and taped the strings to the ceiling.
Double Stuff Oreos were dipped and drizzled with matching candy melts (you can view my Spring Chick Oreo pop tutorial HERE for some tips on Oreo dipping). To make a stand for your Oreo Pops, fill a shoe box with floral foam and cover with scrapbook or wrapping paper. Punch small holes in the top with a skewer or pen!
I cut a lot of time by incorporating store bought items like these cute cupcakes and Little Debbie Football brownies. For a nice presentation, I opened up Little Debbie Football Brownies and arranged them on scrapbook paper.
These goal post displays are so fun to make! For the base, fill a small shoe box with floral foam and cover with green paper shreds. Cover with green scrapbook paper and cut out thin lines and numbers out of white paper. The zeros were really annoying to cut but it was all worth it in the end. Next, cut goal posts out of yellow foam board (or you can use white foam board and with another layer of yellow paper glued on top). To make a pennant banner, cut some diamonds in your school colors, fold in half and glue together over some twine or string.
For the treats, unwrap store bought Rice Krispie Treats and drizzled them with melted chocolate. Dip a Popsicle stick in the melted chocolate and insert into the bottom. Once dried, wrap them in cellophane bags. To make the jerseys, print and cut my jersey pattern and use it to trace onto colored card stock. I suggest you use a lighter color for the base of the jersey. Next, use Sharpie to write in the number and team name.
Jumbo pretzels are one of my favorite things to dip in chocolate! It requires no baking and looks very gourmet. I used a plastic squeeze bottle to drizzles on the school colors.
Overall, the party was a great success and soooo fun to plan! Hope you found some inspiring ideas you’d like to try yourself! Click below for some patterns/templates to help you do it yourself!
Thanks for having me. See you next month :)

I love all these great ideas! I’m having a huge football blowout this weekend with all my coworkers and friends at Dish, and these food ideas are perfect! Also, I’m going to turn our giant basement room into the ultimate football headquarters. With my Hopper, I have three TVs hooked up, one to each tuner, that will allow us to watch three different games at the same time in full HD! There’s also a play-room down there, so all us parents can keep an eye on our kids.
