We love a simple gift idea. Something you can use that is dressed up just so. Whether giving or receiving, it makes your mouth curve in to a smile and you feel a little warm fuzzy inside. You know what else make you feel warm inside? Hot Chocolate. And these Hot Cocoa ornaments are just the ticket for a feel good gift idea!
I saw this idea of putting drinks in ornaments and thought why not take it a step further and use the ornaments to hold the mix as well! Just grab a funnel and fill the ornaments with smashed candy canes, hot chocolate mix, and mini marshmallow bits. Attach little snowflake clips or ribbon to dress them up a bit. Place them in a box with paper shreds to cushion them and include a few striped paper straws tied with twine.
Include a picture of the ornaments as glasses in the box so they know they can not only use the ingredients, but the ornaments too!
Tie up the box with some cute twine, add a little embellishment, and you are good to go. A super cute gift perfect for neighbors, friends, or teachers that takes only minutes to put together!
It would be really fun to pair with a blanket and a thermos of hot water for a cozy date night too!

This is a really cute idea! But I have one question and one comment: Question: Is the ornament plastic or glass? Either way, would it be safe for pouring hot water into it? And then my comment is: The paper straws are a very cute touch; however, I have tried using paper straws in hot cocoa and it doesn’t work well. For looks and packaging, it’s cute but ultimately the recipient would have to use a plastic straw. Thanks for sharing this adorable idea and if you could let us know whether you used a plastic or glass ornament, that would be really helpful!
