Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken is the perfect way to get dinner on the table. The slow cooker makes it so easy!
Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken is delicious and the perfect quick and easy dinner. The fact that it is done in a slow cooker makes it even better. I love my slow cooker. I love it so much I actually own four of them. The fact that I just wrote a slow cooker cookbook might have something to do with the number of slow cookers I own but I think everyone needs at least two!
I use my slow cooker multiple times a week and have found it to be my favorite way to make sure I have something ready for dinner each night. I also use mine a lot when hosting a dinner party and during the holidays. It’s like having a second oven!
When I had young kids at home, the few hours before dinner were always so crazy and knowing that I had dinner already started and it would be ready when we were ready for dinner was the best!
I used chicken thighs but you can also use chicken breasts. The sauce uses a combination of soy sauce, ketchup, BBQ sauce, honey and brown sugar. If you don’t have ketchup, double up the BBQ sauce and the same if you don’t have BBQ sauce, just use more ketchup. The last 20 minutes of cooking I added some corn starch into the liquid and then let it cook for another 15-20 minutes to allow the sauce to thicken up. We love to enjoy it with brown rice and some roasted broccoli. A garnish of green onion and sesame seeds adds some pretty color and flavor too.
