Hi there! I’m Michele from The Scrap Shoppe, and I’m excited to be back again this year as a part of this fun series.
Today I’m sharing these fun little snowmen gift jars which are perfect to fill with a sweet treat or snack for your favorite neighbors and/or your child’s school teachers. And you can whip one up in about 15 minutes!
For this project you need some jars (these are from the Target Dollar Spot, but any jars will do!) and Styrofoam balls that are roughly the same size as the jar lids. These balls are 3″ in diameter and the lids are ~2.5″.
We can get 2 snowman heads per Styrofoam ball. Since the balls are slightly bigger than the jar lids simply cut them off center rather than right down the middle. Once cut, make sure that it will fit on the jar lid. Trim as needed.
Hot glue the Styrofoam to the jar lid. Some basic supplies will make up the rest of the snowman.
Buttons are perfect for eyes, nose, and mouth. Stack orange buttons to create a carrot nose. Use hot glue to attach the buttons to the Styrofoam. Some ribbon will act as the scarf. Tie it around the base of the Styrofoam on the jar to hide the seam. A cute little button hot glued to the side of the jar finishes it up.
Just about anything you have on hand will work to make the snowman face. The second snowman has a thumbtack nose that was painted orange and scrapbooking brads for the eyes and nose. So simple! Just look around your craft space for supplies that will work.
I love this little guy in his snowman “sweater” (another jar from the Dollar Spot!). I will for sure be whipping up a few more of these for Christmas gifts, and I’m excited to be ahead of the game since it’s only November!
And I obviously have a thing for jars. Please be sure to check out my Christmas Kisses Treat Jars.

My immediate thought when i saw the red jar was “Santa”! I wonder ifyr you could use the white styrofoam for Santa’s beard; still working out how to make Santa’s hat.
