This isn’t the first time I’ve talked about books and reading. But I’m kind of an all or nothing girl. I get on a reading kick and I devour books. This year is about to go in warp speed as we head into fall and the holidays.. but I wanted to share my top books to finish by the end of this year.
Because I’ve been traveling a ton for work, I’ve had the chance to read more. But I’ve also had the chance to listen to books too! Have you heard about Audible? If you have to commute, want to listen while you work out, on a plane or just have it in the background throughout your day. It’s so super easy. They just released The Adventures of Tom Sawyer: narrated by Nick Offerman. There are tons of classics available on Audible. It’d be great to get your kids to listen to these classics too. You can get a free 30 day trial to try it out!
Here are the books that are on my list to read by the end of the year —
For reference, I like young adult books a lot (call me young at heart I guess!). They are usually pretty clean, light and fun to read. They give me the perfect get away from the real world without being too deep. Most of the time. I especially like dystopian and something with a love story weaved in. I prefer happy endings. The ones that crush my heart leave me reeling for days. And I’d just rather not go through that. I also love a good self help, inspiration book. So you’ll find some of that in my lists too.
These are audiobooks but can be found in bookstores and on Amazon as well!
- The Storyteller by Jodi Picoult
- A Thousand Tomorrows by Karen Kingsbury
- Cinder by Marissa Myer
- Don’t Let Me Go by Catherine Ryan Hyde
- For the Love by Jen Hatmaker
- Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert
- Rising Strong by Brene Brown
- The Siren by Kiera Cass
- Secrets of a Charmed Life by Susan Meissner
Some of my favorites from past reading:
Delirium series
Matched series
Divergent Series
the Rosie Project
The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society
The Help
