Learn how to make lip balm with these simple instructions! You can make whatever kind you like but this version is grapefruit.
Hello Thirty Handmade Days readers! It’s Emma from Crafting{E} again. I have a great project for you today: Grapefruit Lip Balm. Ever since I made homemade lip balm, I became obsessed with making and using it.
You guys won’t believe how easy it is to make, anyone can do it. This version is also super easy to customize because you can make it in any scent you want!
I love how moisturizing this is. When I started making my own, I stopped using lip balm from the store. Not only is it fun to make, but it feels so much better when I put it on. It has a nice smooth texture and is not too waxy.
I also designed these cute labels to go around the containers. They are available for free at the end of this post!
MATERIALS:
- 1 tbsp beeswax
- 2 tbsp coconut oil
- Grapefruit essential oil
- medicine syringe
- Chapstick containers (mine are from Amazon!)
DIRECTIONS:
- First, use a double boiler (or make on out of two pots) to melt the beeswax and the coconut oil. While they are melting, set up your chapstick containers onto a surface that can get drips on it. Take the tops of the containers and make sure to space them apart.
- Second, when the coconut oil and beeswax are melted, add drops of grapefruit essential oil. Just keep adding the oil until you like the strength of the scent.
- Remove the mixture from the stove and use a medicine syringe to transfer the mixture to the containers. Allow them to set for several hours.
Thanks for reading! Also, the cute labels can be found at the link below.
