I absolutely love kitchen gadgets of all kinds. I remember getting an egg slicer in college and thinking it was the best thing EVER! As much as I am obsessed with the quirky things, I’m an even bigger fan of kitchen tools I use almost every day. These are at the top of my list:
- Measuring Spoons – love these so much that I bought a set for my mom and mother-in-law.
- 2 cup measuring cup – this is the best for baking. I can scoop out so much flour with this bigger measuring cup. It’s the little things.
- Squeeze and pour measuring cup – so great for melting butter, chocolate, etc. Will come in handy for holiday baking.

I am a retired Home Economics teacher and when I taught Foods/Nutrition to middle schoolers, I also stressed, with the girls, that it’s a good idea for those with long hair, to tie it back or put it in a pony tail. When cooking on the stove, make sure the handles on the pans are parallel to the edge of the stove, so they won’t accidentally get bumped, and the hot contents come out either on the stove/floor or on the cook.
