Fudge
You only need a few ingredients to make this special fudge. It’s called “White Christmas Fudge” because it makes a white chocolate version instead of the traditional milk chocolate. Dried cranberries provide the perfect extra touch, but dried cherries or apricots could be used as well!
I spent some time with my kids with this recipe from a special binder that my sister made as a gift for me years ago. It has some family favorites and it was so fun to pull it out and work together. You know how I love cooking with kids (and baking too!). It’s taken a lot of years to get to this point but now my kids can find their way around the kitchen and it makes me so happy!
Even though they have a typical brother/sister relationship… (yes, there may have been some arguing at some point), the end result is always worth it in the kitchen. I hope that someday they will look back at their time together with a lot of fun, special memories.
How to make fudge
Although there are lots of fancy recipes out there, making fudge is really simple. It consists of sugar, milk, butter and any mix ins you want to add. Traditionally chocolate is used but for this one we used white chocolate chips in place of milk chocolate.
You’ll notice that milk is most often in these recipes. Dairy milk helps make the holidays better – either in a glass (for good ol’ Saint Nick) or like this as an ingredient in a recipe. It provides taste and nutrition for the whole family. And it’s a simple way to help give kids nutrients they need. This is especially important with my growing teens!

As much as the holidays bring on the hustle and bustle and craziness every year, I am making more of an effort to enjoy what matters.
Spending time as a family, doing traditions we love, making recipes that have been passed down from generation to generation. Hopefully someday my kids will pass on some of our favorite recipes to their kids too.
