Hi 30 days readers! It’s me, Mique’s little sister, Jess. Don’t you love that I know my sister well enough to hijack her blog whenever I want?

Well, today it’s for a good cause.

Did you know that Mique became a mom 10 years ago on January 14th? Yes, tomorrow her little J turns 10. Hard to believe! We love our JJ so much and he has taught us so much about life. As his aunt, I have learned to appreciate the tiny miracles and the baby steps. He has taught me to express love and to be patient. He has helped me to take a different perspective and to never take my family for granted.

I have always struggled with what to give Jonathan for his birthday, and I finally had an idea this year.

Today, tomorrow, and Friday, I am hosting an Autism Awareness Benefit in honor of J’s big day at my shop, and I invite you all to join me. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to Autism Speaks so that the puzzle that is Autism can finally be solved. Though it is not a gift that comes in wrapping paper or topped with a bow, I think a chunk of change towards a solution is the best thing I can give J, and his whole family.

Happy Birthday J, and Happy Birth-day Miq. You have taught me so much about what it means to be a mom. Love you both.
