There’s nothing quite as good as Air Fryer French Fries- crispy, salty, in a matter of minutes. These are a healthier version of fries but taste amazing!

Air Fryer French Fries

I’ve never met a potato I didn’t like – mashed, roasted, and of course “fried.”  What if I told you that you could make French fries that were not only healthier but the best tasting fries ever? It’s true.  You can do just that.  I didn’t know it was possible until I tried making them in the Air Fryer.   Are you curious how an air fryer works?  Check out my Top Air Fryer Recipes and Resources.

French Fries in Air Fryer

The best thing about these french fries is that they are crispy (like everything you make in the air fryer) but not over dry.  There is less grease than traditional “fried” french fries so you can feel better about eating a handful. Or more.  I won’t tell.  There’s no need to peel the potatoes on this recipe so it takes very little time.  The one draw back is that most air fryers aren’t huge, so if you want to make a lot, you have to make several batches.

How to make Air Fryer French Fries

Let’s get this french fries party started!  To make these French fries, you will need:

  • Air Fryer
  • russet potato(es)
  • olive oil
  • kosher salt
  • garlic powder
  • Optional: Flavor God Garlic Lovers – this would be in place of garlic powder and kosher salt

  1. Wash and dry potato(es).  1 potato usually equals about 2 servings of french fries.  If you want more than that, you’ll need to cook in batches.
  2. Cut the potato length wise into approximately  1/4” thin slices. Then cut other direction into fries.
  3. Put oil and seasoning in a bowl and toss potato slices into it. Toss until evenly coated.
  4. Lay potato slices into the air fryer basket in an even layer.
Note: Don’t overlap as they won’t cook properly.  This is always the case with anything you make in an Air Fryer – there needs to be plenty of room for the air to circulate.
  5. Cook at 380 degrees for 12-15 mins, flipping 1/2 way.
If needed, add extra time until desired crispiness.

Variation:
Different spices can be used on these fries – try out cayenne or paprika for a spicier taste.
